Whistler's newest neighbourhood, Rainbow has been literally carved out of the side of a mountain in what was in years long past a gravel pit. No longer resembling it's humble origins, Rainbow if full of gorgeous "mountain modern" homes with many flat rooflines and some very interesting and inspiring architecture. Rainbow boasts some of the most stunning views in all of Whistler as many of the homes have a commanding lookout over Green Lake, the Nicklaus North Golf Course and both Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains below. This family friendly neighbourhood is flourishing, connecting you just a 5-minute walk to the nearest shops and restaurants.
Callum & Kelly Ridley have owned a contemporary "mountain modern" home on Asheigh McIvor Drive at Rainbow for a few years now:
We really wanted to make our own choice with the type of home we were constructing and the more modern flatter rooflines in Rainbow just spoke to us. That was the first thing. Next were the astounding views! We think the views from our home at Rainbow are just to die for! Green Lake down in front and both Whistler and Blackcomb stretching out in the distance. Almost every room in our house has that killer view. It's so amazing to look out at that gorgeous alpenglow on the mountains at sunset.
