What is known to be one of the most beautiful scenic drives of the world, the Sea to Sky Highway was once just a single alternating lane back in 1966. What may come as a shock to commuters today, the highway used to go through the town of Squamish, by passing the local shops & restaurants.

Though the time machine does not capture the route from Squamish to Whistler, that stretch of road used to be where a gravel road began... Through the years, the Sea to Sky Highway has been improved to what it is today, though the most drastic changes were made before the Olympics came to Vancouver in 2010.

Vintage map of the route taken from a 1965 British Columbia magazine.
